🛠 Editing and Final Touches

After creating your designs, you can use these tools to edit and refine them.

  • Canva (free version available)- Use this to add text, logos, crop, adjust colors, vibrancy, add filters, and more. (Under photo editor)

  • Nanobanana Edit (free through Gemini)- This will allow you to use AI to make edits to your design like changing colors, editing backgrounds, adding anything you want, and more using AI. while allowing you to keep certain parts of your design. You can access this through Gemini (In chat and free), Fal, Envato subscription, photoshop, and other platforms.

How to Create Text Ideas

If you want to add words to your design and you are not sure what words to add yet, then this is where we are going to use ChatGPT to help.

The Prompt: (Replace orange parts)


Create 20 (The Mood. Ex: funny, witty, serious, relatable, sarcastic, inspirational, Geeky / Nerdy, Romantic / Flirty)  phrases for a tshirt for (Insert your niche.. EX: dog lovers) The design is going to include (Include anything that you want to add into the design, or ideas. Ex: a pug).


 

The AI Prompt Formula for T-Shirts

Here’s the formula for a perfect prompt for t-shirt designs:

Main concept/Subject → Mood→ Text → Style → Colors → Details → Background/shirt color 

The Prompt: (Replace orange parts. You can omit parts and make it your own. You can refine it further by putting your prompts into ChatGPT and telling it to make it better.)

"Create a detailed t-shirt design featuring (main subject / core concept). The overall mood should feel (funny, bold, edgy, wholesome, trendy, emotional, rebellious, playful, etc.).  Include the text “(exact phrase you want on the shirt)” The design should be in (retro, graffiti, minimalist, line art, cartoon, neon, vintage rock-n-roll, photorealistic, vector, etc.) style. Use a color palette of (specific colors you want emphasized or just omit this part. Ex: earth tones, black and white, ect.. ). Include details such as (subtle smoke or mist around the design, flames in the background, layered foreground and background elements for dimension, soft glow, slight grain, distress, vintage wear marks). The shirt color will be (Ex:Black) and the background color will be the same color, the design should work clearly against that background. Do not include anything copyrighted or trademarked.”

 

 

Style Options

Some ai Image generators have a style picker. Like in Ideogram. So you can omit the style part in the prompt if you choose these.


 

Shirt Color/Halftoning

You can make softer prints when you think about incorporating your shirt color into your design by knocking out the shirt color from your design. For example, you take out the black of a design that is going on black shirts. The best shirt colors are generally white and black since most designs have these colors. If your design has fades or transparent elements to it, it will need to be halftoned.
